Burnout and Job Satisfaction Among Family Medicine Residency Coordinators
Research into rates of burnout and job satisfaction among family medicine residency coordinators is nonexistent. Coordinators play a pivotal role in medical education, sometimes have multiple roles and titles, and often work in stressful environments. The goals of this study were to explore the prevalence of, and relationship between, burnout and job satisfaction among family medicine residency coordinators.

Assessing Coordinator Wellness, Stress and Burnout
Although there is a national effort by the
Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical
Education (ACGME) to promote wellness at the
trainee level, these efforts have not been
formally extended to coordinators. Burnout is
also an issue for coordinators, as their positions
seem to have high turnover rate that can be
disruptive to training programs. A review of
pediatrics residency and subspecialty programs
at a single institution over a five-year period
revealed a turnover rate of 24 total program
coordinators, with some programs experiencing
as many as three changes in PC.

A Survey of Neurosurgery Residency Program Coordinators: Their Roles, Responsibilities, and Perceived Value
Residency program coordinators play an important role behind the scenes, in the function of residency and fellowship programs. In addition, coordinators have significantly heterogeneous job roles among institutions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the training, responsibilities, and contribution of residency program coordinators within the field of neurosurgery.
